Energy Transition Summit
29 - 30 October 2025
Balancing security and sustainability amid economic disruption
In-Person & Digital | Convene 22 Bishopsgate, London | #FTEnergy
The global energy transition continues to progress, even as geopolitical tensions and diverging national strategies present fresh challenges across regions and sectors. In 2024, over 40% of the world’s electricity came from clean sources, according to Ember. Yet despite rapid deployment in countries like China, the shift to a lower-carbon future remains slower than hoped. Major economies such as the US, and many leading energy companies, still lean heavily on fossil fuels. Meanwhile, rising energy demand from AI and data centres is elevating concerns around security and competitiveness, forcing governments to navigate the tension between short-term pressures and long-term climate goals. Still, optimism remains: government backing and emerging technologies are creating new momentum for clean energy and infrastructure development.
Celebrating it's 10 year anniversary, the FT’s Energy Transition Summit includes two days of high-level content, curated and moderated by leading FT journalists. The programme includes insightful interviews with CEOs from major energy companies, complemented by valuable networking opportunities. Discussions will confront the challenges and opportunities facing the sector across geopolitics, supply and demand, technology and innovation, finance and investment.
